Engagement

Jacob and I were at the Roanoke (old school pub next door to our house) a few days before Xmas for our usual Dollar Taco Wednesday. He had brought his 'gear' along to make a few bike-spoke-bracelets for Xmas presents. I'd been 'hinting' for a while that he should make me a bike-spoke ring... but to no avail! When I mentioned it this time, however, the response was classic Jacob: he gave me a Look and turned his back to me and set about making a ring. After yanking it on and off my hand to get the fit right, he got up and walked away. I sat there admiring my new ring for a second until I remembered that he hadn't proposed! Just as I started to wonder where he'd gone, he was back, and got down on both knees. Although my first response was to squawk "at the Roanoke?" it was quickly hugs and kisses and ponies and rainbows from then on.

So, it's true that I bullied him into it... but I knew that he would make an amazing ring!
